OAKLAND, Calif. (June 29, 2005) –
Big ideas are essential to a company’s survival. Industry research shows that 80 percent of companies know big ideas are necessary for
success, but only four percent know how to invent them.
In the just-released book, Inventing Big Ideas, author Dave Dunn, chairman of
e-agency, a San Francisco bay area public relations and web development firm, reveals a new 10-step thinking model for companies to learn how to plan for, generate, and implement big ideas.
"A big idea is one that keeps a company alive in today’s intense competitive marketplace,
improves brand perception, and lets it grow 25 to 50 percent faster than the competition," explains Dunn.
Dunn describes himself as a professional "ideator" who has spent more than 30 years as a
branding professional working for start-ups, Fortune 500 firms and non-profit organizations. He is also the author
of Branding: The 6 Easy Steps.
He started his business career working for J.Walter Thompson Advertising in its New York office. His agency
career also includes stints at Dancer, Fitzgerald & Sample and the San Francisco office of Saatchi & Saatchi.
Dunn is a graduate of Stanford University and has an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce.
